Long winters, summer frosts, and impossibly fast winds. The things that can make Orkney a somewhat challenging place to live make it an exceptional climate for creating and maturing extraordinary whisky.
In celebration of this, and as a nod to Niflheim, one of the nine worlds of old Norse mythology and the birthplace of ice, frost and fog, Highland Park created Ice Edition 17 Year Old. Matured in ex-bourbon casks, Ice Edition offers aromas of cool, fresh pineapple, and ripe mango sorbet, and is balanced with spicy smoke and ginger root. A special release with an ABV of 53.9%, it was released in spring 2016.
Limited Release of 30 thousand bottles.
