Glenmorangie Wood finished range ended in 2004 when the company was sold to Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton who then set about restructuring Glenmorangies's whisky range with french sounding names ie Lasanta. This finish is 12 years old, the last 2 years in Oloroso sherry Casks not that it says on the bottle as it looks like a no age statement release.
The sherry casks demonstrates clearly the effects finishing can have on a whisky. The distillery character is there but you can definitely taste the Oloroso. All in all a sweet salty dram with glenmorangie profile in the background.
