After two decades of silence, the Glenglassaugh distillery reawoke in 2008, and now it's time to discover a brand new single malt, produced under the expert direction of master blender Rachel Barrie. This I belive is the bottle shape they have settled on going forward which is rather fetching.
Portsoy is a richly peated single malt, named after the coastal distillery's neighbouring harbour village. Matured in a selection of sherry, bourbon, and Port casks, it boasts a satisfyingly smoky, maritime character with waves of tropical fruit, salted liquorice, sticky soy, and chocolate.
